The Tuscan sea is getting ready for an unforgettable weekend with the double event of the VELA Cup and the Triton Cup, on 24 and 25 May at Marina Cala de’ Medici, between Rosignano and Castiglioncello. Two days of sport, fun and environmental commitment on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Italian coast.
Saturday 24 May: VELA Cup Tuscany
The VELA Cup returns with its format open to everyone: cruisers, sport sailors and classic-boat enthusiasts will all find their place. The Cruising Boat and Sport Boat categories let everyone race in their own style, while the Classic Boats (boats over 25 years old) will add vintage charm to the competition.
New this year: the Mylius Rendez Vous, a special ranking reserved for the prestigious yachts of the Italian yard, and the X-Yachts gathering, bringing together owners and enthusiasts. On board, the atmosphere will be that of a big party, with prizes for the winners, awards for elegance and sporting spirit, and lots of surprises from the sponsors.
Sunday 25 May: Triton Cup for a sea worth protecting.
On Sunday it’s the turn of the Triton Cup, a race that combines a passion for sailing with environmental protection. The event, linked to the European project LIFE A-MAR NATURA2000, aims to raise awareness of marine biodiversity and the protected areas of the Tuscan coast. Thanks to the AMAR SEA LIFE app, participants can discover the natural sites to be preserved and become ambassadors of the sea.
Not just sport: the Triton Cup will also host the Sea Therapy project, dedicated to cancer patients, who will have the opportunity to enjoy a restorative experience at sea.
